My Friday!

I made it to the gym this morning, but was feeling distracted… Just off. Boys were following too closely, I was tired and my form was poor. I warmed up on the treadmill, did about 20 minutes with free weights and assisted bar, followed by about 10 minutes of rowing at 40 pounds.
Not a fantastic workout, but better than leaving my lazy butt in bed! 🙂
I had some oats with raisins for breakfast, my rice milk latte, and amonds for a snack.
Lunch was a chicken salad topped with pears and a little balsamic and olive oil.

I had some homemade applesauce for a snack, and some cheerios with raisins and semi-sweet chips when I got home (I waited until D got home to make dinner).

Dinner was tossed in the cast iron pan and roasted on high for about 25/30 minutes – this is one of my favorite ways to make dinner in cool weather – I had chicken, a chopped up sweet potato, and some brussel sprouts which I had chopped in half to roast.
Just sprinkle with your favorite seasonings, add about a tablespoon of butter (or olive oil) roast, and dinner is done! Yum!

Eating clean (starting tomorrow?)

I subscribe to Oxygen and Clean Eating, but they mostly just get stacked up on my side of the bed. Today though, I picked up Your Best Body Now from the library and haven’t been able to put it down!

This morning I biked 6 miles in 25 minutes at resistance level 13 – I was feeling pretty good about that pace!
Breakfast was a sausage patty and cheese on sandwich thin (eaten cold because I was that busy) and my standard rice latte.
I had a cup of oatmeal with raisins and cranberries for a snack, another coffee and a salmon topped salad for lunch.

No more mid day coffees for me though! I also gave into pumpkin temptation again! I am ready for the Halloween workplace candies to go away!
For dinner I made a big ass salad topped with pears, a mini babel cheese, and grilled chicken. I also had some dry cereal and a cup of green tea for a snack.
Night, night – I am off to bed!

A two latte day

Two minutes into my day I discovered my favorite fish (a Valentine’s Day gift from D two years ago) had passed away – I should have taken this as a sign to stay home from work today!
I skipped the pre-run fuel this morning, and just had some green tea. I don’t think it made any difference in my workout! I ran 30 minutes straight, I think it was 2.25 miles.

Two coffees, quite a few nasty people yelling at me, oats for dinner and a scale that reads 204.5 this evening! I am ready for bed, here’s hoping tomorrow is a bit sweeter. 🙂

Focusing on healthy snacks

I was a good girl this weekend! This was lunch after the gym on Sunday, egg and sausage on a sandwich thin – yum!
That same sandwich was breakfast this morning after a 30 minute run. The past several weeks I have been interval training trying to burn calories, but tomorrow I think I am going to try 30 mins straight to see how it goes! Wish me luck!

I had some healthy snacks today, a ham wrap for lunch, and a big ass salad for dinner! Lol… Just a little more than two months left in the year, I need to focus!
How are you guys doing with you 2010 goals? There is still time! 🙂

Lots to show today!

No gym and a 6am shift – though a tough day, today brought an end to a VERY long work week!

Breakfast sandwich with egg, sausage and cheese.

Rice latte and raspberry scone.

Tea which was tasty, and I do think it helped prevent some stress snacking.

Tasty lunch packed from last night’s dinner leftovers: sweet potato, veggies and a spicy chicken thigh.
After lunch there was a birthday celebration – I had a cucake, but I later felt slightly sick, I’m not sure if it was an ingrediant that I may have been allergic to, or if it was just too sweet.
I made a fish taco for dinner – the fish was melt in your mouth amazing, but I was really tired this evening, and the rest of the taco lacked imagination.

I was feeling pretty good about my choices today, until I had to post those pics! I want to do better, to be healthier, to not feel the need to be eating ALL the time, and I really want to lose some weight!

Early to bed

Tried and liked a new start to the morning – puffs cereal with rice milk. I had a much better run this morning, my pace is still high (13+ minute miles, using the lolo burn app and interval training), but I felt pretty good this morning!
After the gym I had my apples and oats, and rice latte. I managed to avoid snacking until after lunch but the salad wasn’t very good (I mostly just ate the chicken on top) so then didn’t have the willpower to pass up the candy.
I am early to bed tonight so I can makey early shift tomorrow – no gym, and I’m going to eat a cupcake – yikes! I’ve packed chicken and veggies for lunch, but don’t have a breakfast plan, so we’ll see how this goes!

Comfort carbs

I only have breakfast pictures today, and truthfuly ended the day WAY over my calorie goal.
My boyfriend is trying to lose a couple pounds, and I swear he has so much willpower it is just amazing!
I talk about losing weight, but then eat toast and cookies when stressed. I’m having a hard time dealing with workplace stress and while I know what I should and should not be doing, I find myself doing more ‘should nots’ than ‘shoulds’.
Tomorrow is another day!
I am hitting the gym, have packed apples and oats for breakfast, and chicken salad for lunch. Tomorrow will be a good day!

Long day :)

28 minutes running and a 20 minute arm and ab workout, followed by some protien enriched baked apples and oats:

I ate an energy bar at lunch, and my salad for a late snack:

I made baked pumpkin stuffed with lean turkey, tomatoes and black beans for dinner – spiced up it was tasty!
It was a long day, I’m off to bed so I can tackle Wednesday! (Why isn’t it Friday yet?)
🙂 Night night!

A loss!

Last weekend was all about pumpkins and celebrating my birthday month! 🙂
Saturday we admired carved pumpkins and shared sushi with friends, and Sunday visited a pumpkin patch – I really loved this last weekend! 🙂
This morning I found that chilly fall had snuck into my bedroom. It was really difficult to leave my warm and snuggly bed for the gym, but I made it! I am still pretty sore from Saturday’s weight training, but managed a 15 minute run and 40 minutes on the eliptical.
I had a ham wrap and rice latte for breakfast. For lunch I brought a salad topped with two boiled eggs, tomatoes, and balsamic. I also had a mug of green tea:

That apple was later paired with some organic chocolate cookies!

I was crazy busy at work today, but I have to say I didn’t really even notice because I was on cloud nine! After an amazing weekend (including dinner out with friends!) I found myself at 194.0 this morning! I have been fluctuating between 195 and 205 ALL year long, it was really nice to see that number this morning!
Maybe D’s plan of incorporating more weight training is working, or maybe my body is finally getting back to normal – I’ll take it either way!!! 🙂

Dinner was red curry chicken. We found this red curry paste this weekend, and it is AMAZING! It may become my new favorite thing to cook, it tastes just like Thai take out. Yum!

TGIF!

I hit the bikes this morning for an hour ride and some quite time with my book!
Breakfast was a sausage and potato (leftover from dinner last night) wrap and my morning latte:

I topped my lunchtime salad with black beans and had some rice cakes for a snack:

….and had scrambled eggs for dinner. A breakfast and AB&J themed day. 🙂

Exciting news though! D and I just booked a trip to Portland for a Thanksgiving break! I am so excited for vacation! We have a great time traveling and exploring together!
